After speaking with some new customers recently, I realized that not everyone is familiar with what a Crop is as it relates to our favorite paper crafting hobby, so I thought I'd take a minute to share some info about that.
At Scrap-A-Latte, I host two kinds of crops each month ... a 2-day Latte Crop and a 1-day No Frills crop. Both are hosted on weekends and run from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Participants get your own 5' table space to create at. The fee for the 2-day Latte Crop is $50, and it includes bagels on both Saturday and Sunday, and a light lunch. The No Frills Crop fee is $20 and it includes bagels only, and participants can grab lunch from a variety of eateries that are within walking distance or a short drive. At Scrap-A-Latte, each cropper gets their own 5' table and tables are in groups of four. I make every effort to make sure croppers coming with friends are seated together.
Croppers bring their scrapping toolkit, kits, papers, photos, and other supplies that they may want to pack up and bring to the crop so that they can work on a variety of projects. At Scrap-A-Latte, croppers are welcome to use the store's Cricut and a variety of cartridges, the Big Shot and a variety of dies and punches. If you're a Cricut user, you might want to bring your own cutting mat, however, there are several available "well loved" mats available in the store too.
So that's what crops are all about. Hanging out with friends -- old and new -- creating scrapbook pages, cards, DIY projects and even art journal pages. We enjoy sharing ideas, listening to music, (yes, sometimes an impromptu dance may break out), laughing and just relaxing while enjoying the hobby we all love.
