Last month, a new class called "Outside of the Box" was introduced at the store. Together, we create a two-page layout using a technique that ... at first glance ... may look intimidating. But we break it down step by step, and before you know it, you have a very unique scrapbook layout that you may have previously admired from afar but were too afraid to try it.
At last month's first class, we created a 3-D wreath of flag banners. Admittedly, class participants were skeptical that they were going to be able to do it and have a finished project by the end of class. But lo and behold, they all succeeded and loved their creations!
This week, we taught the October class, which was all about the sunburst. Again, class participants were scratching their heads wondering how in the world they'd be able to finish the project before midnight! But it's simply a matter of cutting pieces at varying sizes (that part we did) and then those in the class correctly cutting pieces into triangles (we walked 'em through piece by piece). And by 8:30 pm, everyone had finished their awesome two-page layout with beautiful Echo Park Twas the Night Before Christmas papers. The layout is perfect for Christmas pictures past and present. Several class participants are even planning to make more sunburst layouts.
