A Great Week Ahead!

Thanks to all the Scrap-A-Latte friends who shared "Happy Birthday Renee" wishes, which meant so much!  It's been a fun weekend with fireworks, friends, family and a birthday pedi and ice cream break. Hopefully you took lots of pictures for those scrapbook pages!

Monday's Christmas Card Club!  This month's card design will have you singing a particular song (see the snippet clue)!  Please call 631.482.9190 to let Renee know if you're coming in person or would like for her to hold a kit for up to two weeks.

This club has grown way beyond what we thought it would be, so it's difficult to know who wants to come every month, who's taking a break for summer vacation, who wants kits, etc. So for that reason, please "sign up" each month so she's sure to make enough kits.

Ken Oliver Workshops At Last!  We've been counting down the days to host our next special guest teacher, Ken Oliver, who will be teaching a couple of sold-out workshops on Thursday afternoon (1 to 5 pm) and evening (6 to 9 pm).

It's going to be fun creating with Ken's Color Bursts -- and he has new colors coming out soon too (hint, hint!).  The afternoon class is all about everything you've ever wanted to know about watercolor techniques with Color Bursts. Class participants will learn tons of techniques that can be used in card making, scrapbooking and mixed media arts, and also gain a good understanding of color theory and layering colors with watercolors. It's sure to be an exciting experience!

 

In the evening workshop. participants will create a 12x12 Color Burst Wall Décor piece using Color Burst Stencil Techniques. The class includes stenciling, layering with color, subtracting color and color fixing. It's part watercolor technique, part color theory, part decoupage and part mixed media.

Art Journaling with Kat -- Friday night is another fun Art Journal class with Kat.  Last month, she had everyone creating poppies -- and there were some doubters in the beginning.  But everyone created their own beautifully unique pages and had a great time doing it. Wonder what Kat has planned this month!

Looking for a little kick start -- or "kit start" as we say at Scrap-A-Latte?  Our Kit Korner has a couple of new additions (sneak peeks below). Come on in and check them out.  They're a great way to get some scrapbooking done when you may be a little short on time.

The week wraps up with another two-day Latte Crop.  These are always a good time, with everyone working on their own projects, getting ideas and inspiration from fellow croppers and just enjoying relaxing time together. Call the store at 631.482.9190 if you'd like to reserve your spot.  Everyone gets their own 5' table, and the crop fee includes breakfast and lunch on both Saturday and Sunday.
