We've Come A Long Way "Brad"ly!

Happy weekend Scrap-A-Latte friends!  Looks like the weekend here on Long Island is off to a sunny start, so hope you have a chance to get out and enjoy it (including a stop by your favorite scrapbook store!). Oh, and before I forget, since not everyone could get by on Wacky Wednesday, our ribbon special of buy a yard, get a yard has been extended through Sunday, June 14.

Ya know, the other day I was doing a little picking up in my scrapbook room and came across some "old school" brads.  OK, truth be told, I stepped on a couple of 'em (ha!).  But nevertheless, that got me to thinking...

When first getting started as a scrapbooker, brads were used to fasten a couple of pieces of papers together. Colors were a little limited, but not for long!

Then we started getting more creative with brads using them to attach photos to the pages (how progressive!), then really stretching and creating "frames" out of brads in shapes of rectangles and even circles.

Fast forward, and today's selection of brad designs is just amazing, with all sorts of sizes, colors, blingy varieties. Designs are just endless (see below). Now we use them in all sorts of ways on our layouts and cards. We use them "as is" or even snip off the fastener part and use them as embellishments. What a great way to add texture, color and dimension to your projects.

Let us know in the Comments field below how you tend to use brads in your projects -- and maybe even ideas you've been wanting to try!

Find time for joy this weekend.  And, of course, hope to see you at Scrap-A-Latte this weekend.
